The validation of LRs is a highly critical issue.
A network of validation centres for spoken and written language resources has been set up by ELRA. VC_SLR and VC_WLR are steered by ELRA Validation Committee, VCom.

Most of the SLR available in our catalogue have been validated or checked, with the collaboration of SPEX, SPeech EXpertise centre (the Netherlands), which has produced validation reports, or, in some cases, Quick Quality Check reports, which aim at decsribing the quality of the resources.
When available, those reports are downloadable from the descriptions of the concerned resources.

The validation of the WLR presented in ELRA’s catalogue is under way, thanks to the newly established network of VC_WLR, headed by CST, Center for SprogTeknologi (Denmark).
